Course Description

A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a leader of change who not only demonstrates an understanding of the Lean Six Sigma philosophy but is also capable of successfully leading process improvement teams. This is accomplished by using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, & Control) methodology while simultaneously applying the appropriate tools and methods that can enable “breakthrough” improvements. The "Six Sigma" component of your course of study will include a detailed exploration of each phase of the DMAIC problem-solving methodology as well as all of the basic quality and analytical tools associated with the Six Sigma Green Belt body of knowledge. The addition of Lean principles and tools, “woven” into the DMAIC framework, will complete your training as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. It is understood that you will be a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt when you complete each phase outlined in this program.

Your plan will also include required readings and articles as well as assignments to reinforce the application of key tools and concepts.

2. Webinars. There will be three (3) webinars included in the Green Belt program; a welcome and introduction webinar and two (2) webinars discussing tools from the ‘Measure’ and ‘Analyze’ phases of your training program.

3. In-Class training. You will have five (5) days of in-class training which will be held in Toronto ON. This training will occur at specific intervals in your program to discuss and expand upon topics in the ‘Measure’, ‘Analyze’ and ‘Improve’ phases. Your final day of in-class training will focus on project closure, sustaining your results and innovation.

4. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. Your certification includes two (2) components;

a.) A requirement for Certification is the completion of one (1) Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement project. Although your MBB mentor will follow the progress of your project through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve & Control) life-cycle, you will be required to submit a project summary to e-Zsigma (Canada) Inc.

b.) Writing of Green Belt Certification Exam. After completion of training and your project, your final step to achieving Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is the completion of the on-line Lean Six Sigma Green Belt exam. This exam comprises of approximately forty (40) questions that are derived from the Green Belt body of knowledge. The pass mark for this examination is 70% and 4 hours are provided to complete the exam. The exam is "open book" and you can access all the materials and tools that you would normally have access to when leading Lean Six Sigma projects.

5. Awarding of Certification. Having successfully completed the preceding four (4) components of your learning plan, you will be awarded Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. A framed certificate will be couriered to your address of choice within two weeks of you receiving confirmation that you have successfully achieved certification.
